Guten Tag,
Well, my first week has in Germany has arrived. I really do not know where the time went but again I am so thankful to be here with Lennie. We are looking forward to our first week-end together and doing errands and some fun things. Life is good.
The last three days I have been reading Psalm 18. I absolutely love this Psalm it gives me hope, courage and most of all it gives me peace. I know God is in control no matter what. As a Believer in Christ Jesus as my Lord and Savior He deserves this trust each and every day, not as I pick and choose, which I have been known to do from time to time. Yes, ME!!! I was the kid who was given an inch and she would take a mile and than receive the consequences of her actions. Most of the time I deserved every punishment I received. The Lord has been reteaching me about His reverance and reminding me that it is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge and of long life! I think one of the reasons I have been allowed this time in Germany is ALL the time I have alone in a wonderful, quiet place where I can really give new thought on some things I have left by the way side. It is said in the scriptures we must be careful as we grow old not to forget the Lord and let our hearts become hard. I have found of late this takes work because as I grow older I do not have the fellowship or the accountability I had in my early days of Christianity. I have become lazy. I guess this day I am thinking out loud thank you for listening to my thoughts.
As I write this I hear all sorts of conversations outside my window. I wish I could understand them all. The teens are breaking for lunch and are standing at the bus stop to go home for lunch. When a bunch of the guys met this morning I noticed they all hugged and gave hand signs to each other.....some things are not different no matter where we are in the world. Also, I hear bicycle bells telling people to get out of the way. I hear the wonderful church bells ringing in the afternoon and of course the proverbial BMW racing down the street, ha! The doctor's office across the street is very busy today. Everytime I look out the window people are coming in and out. I also smell the baking of bread, the cooking of cabbage and all the delightful smells of Germany!! I guess I am ready for lunch. I had my favorite breakfast, museli and yogurt mixed together, oh there is nothing like it. For lunch I will have my last piece of pretzel bread with mustard, some cheese and a pear. Yes, life is good.
Must scoot...I will take lots of pictures this week-end and post them on Monday. I love writing this blog and I sure wish you were all here to enjoy this wonderful gift I have been given.
Tschuss,
Debby
